Rich indigo, teal and unexpected flashes of burnt orange move through the bird’s sweeping feathers, while delicate blue botanicals and a hand-painted vessel bring a quieter, old-world beauty to the piece.
The blue-and-white patterns were inspired by my grandmother’s china plates—something familiar and inherited woven into a painting about individuality. I love that tension: tradition beside wildness, something carefully kept beside a bird that seems entirely uninterested in being anything other than itself.
