Hi, I’m Kellie!

I paint for the people who have always felt a little too much, a little different, a little out of step with everyone else.

My work is full of beautiful things—flowers, animals, patterns, color—but I’m not really interested in perfection. I’m interested in character. The crooked stem. The weird bug. The woman who doesn’t quite fit in. The parts of ourselves we spend years trying to hide before realizing they’re actually the best parts.

I started painting during one of the hardest seasons of my life, and somewhere along the way it became less about making pretty pictures and more about making sense of being human. These paintings are my way of finding beauty in imperfection, softness in strength, and humor in the absurdity of it all.

Every piece is painted by hand in my Wisconsin studio using layers of acrylic, oil, scratches, drips, scribbles, and a fair amount of intuition. I rarely know exactly where a painting is going when I start. The magic is in letting it become what it wants to be.

My hope is that when you live with one of my paintings, it feels less like decoration and more like a companion. A small reminder to take up space, stay curious, embrace your quirks, and stop waiting to become someone else before allowing yourself to be seen.

Your house needs beautiful things.

But I think it needs the weird things, too.
